Carol Roessner, Founder and Creative Director
As founder of Mission House Creative, Carols career as a visionary, creative strategist and entrepreneur has incurred a legacy of programs and publications. Since her award-winning creative work in 1996 as a designer in the New York metro area, her portfolio includes agency work at The Creative Mark and design directorships with nonprofit
organizations such as AIGA and CIVA (For AIGA Raleigh, she founded the award-winning journal tweak, which was reprinted in Latin America and is still in publication today). After rising quickly in the design profession, Carol directed Mission House Creative
originally a graphic design firm in 1999 that grew into a marketing communications agency to national recognition for creative excellence across a broad spectrum
of industries. Carols depth of knowledge in science and education, two of the top industries in the Triangle, has fueled the companys success. In the Triangle Business
Journals 2001 40-under-40 feature, she was named an up and coming business leader making a difference. Carol earned her B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in Art from
Messiah College in Pennsylvania.
Jim Roessner, President
As a founding partner and President, Jim brings his many years of business knowledge in the technology, finance and entertainment industries to Mission House Creative.
Since 1993, his strong performance in sales and management roles with IBM, Norwest/Wells Fargo, FirstPlus, NFL and World Cup Soccer has earned numerous awards and recognition, including many sales records broken. For Norwest and FirstPlus, he was the top producer on the East Coast. His dedication to research and best practices in financial management and operations helped MHC meet and exceed company financial goals. Now an accomplished entrepreneur, Jims practical, business-focused leadership is a valuable asset as he directs client relations and business development at MHC. He has managed the companys rapid growth while fostering 3-5 year-long relationships with key clients and accounts. Jim earned his B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) in Management and International Business from Appalachian
State University. He continues his ongoing education with the Executive Education Marketing and Management Institute at the University of North Carolina.
Patricia Hopkins, Account Supervisor & Account Planner
With more than 13 years in the marketing communications and branding field, Patricia applies
a wealth of knowledge and experience as Mission House Creatives account supervisor. Before
joining MHC, Patricias accomplishments included developing integrated marketing plans for
companies such as the PGA Tour and NASCAR and managing overall sales and sponsorship programs
for Turner Broadcasting, the Indy Racing League and The Weather Channel. She also worked for
the Cartoon Network, overseeing the branding and licensing for off channel programs. At
Mission House, Patricia has expanded her repertoire by planning and implementing integrated
marketing strategies for new and existing clients; supervising key account relationships, and
managing and expanding agency PR and marketing efforts. Patricia earned her B.A. in
Communications at the University of William Paterson.
Michael Sullivan, Writer
As lead writer-in-house, Michaels final goal is to clearly communicate a brand message to
the target audience. His commitment to market research, strategic planning and brand
positioning is foundational to his writing and concepts. The strategic insights from this
more scientific approach is then coupled with a natural perception of the target audience
psyche. From concept and brand positioning to websites and ad campaigns, his ability to
cover many writing style spectrums ensures a high standard of excellence. His way with
words has gained critical acclaim, including Gold and Bronze Addys and his writing career
has also involved working for the Raleigh News and Observer as a sports correspondent.
At Mission House, Michael also serves as editor on all accounts and plays a pivotal role
in managing daily workflow, including scheduling projects and streamlining various tasks.
He earned his B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where
he also wrote for the Daily Tar Heel.
Barbara Ketchum, Production & Business Manager
Barbaras experience spans 30 years in graphic arts, marketing and advertising. Prior to
joining Mission House, Barbara worked with nationally recognized agencies in Durham,
Chapel Hill and Raleigh. Her client list includes Verizon Wireless, Comcast Digital
Cable, Triangle United Way, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, UNC Hospitals,
GE Mortgage Insurance and many others. Her knowledge includes almost all areas of print
production, from national consumer print and outdoor advertising, package design, trade
show exhibits and retail display to complex direct marketing production. Barbaras
direct marketing expertise includes managing data acquisition and organization, print
production, and mailing of national campaigns to multiple lists, including multiple tests
against control packages. At Mission House, she uses this broad expertise as a valuable
component for strategic growth initiatives in all areas of production and business
management. Barbara earned her B.F.A. in Fashion Illustration Advertising with a minor
in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University.
